Another Update

After I got the mystery test results last Thursday, I messaged the hematologist. And waited. No response on Friday. But when I woke up this morning, there it was.
In the doctor’s words, my bone marrow looks fine. So … well, wait … I only saw results from two tests, and there were supposed to be three. I replied back to him and asked about the third test. Assuming that was included in his statement, it’s back to the allergist I go.
I’m feeling a bit of relief this morning.
Glad to hear that!
Sounds promising! You must be breathing a lot easier today.
I am.
Oh, good!! Time to celebrate–sex, drugs, and rock and roll!
Thanks Pops!!
Good news. Allergy issues can be confounding as well. I learned that I am certainly allergic to Carmine dye (the red “natural” dye from little bugs that is in so many foodstuffs, including supermarket meats where it is unlabeled). However, for no apparent reason, I can go into anaphylaxis, complete with fiery, itching, burning, full-body rash, difficulty breathing, closing throat, fainting, incontinence. It’s god-awful frightening and can happen anywhere for reasons unknown. The doc insists only food and insect stings can cause this…even when I haven’t been bitten or eaten anything…so he has dubbed it idiopathic anaphylaxis. Which simply means, “We don’t know.” I hope that you can get to the root of your rashes and get a specific thing to avoid or suitable preventable treatment. Now knowing is hell.
I remember at one point in my childhood that my mom thought I might be allergic to red food dye. I think. The allergist is almost convinced that mine is not a good issue because he says that food allergies typically occur within 30 minutes of consuming the food and my rash and inflammation frequently comes on while I sleep, hours after I last ate.
Same here. I went to bed for a nap and woke up rashed out, itching and wheezing. Had nothing new for lunch and this was after an afternoon nap where I woke up at 6:30 pm. We’re confounded. Mold is a suspected culprit, but the doctor says there are over 50,000 species of mold in Florida that I could be inhaling. We have no idea
In our last house, we paid to have the air handler cleaned, sterilized, and replaced all of the ductwork and plenums. Still had the allergic response. Have had it once here, as well. So I can’t blame it on being down on the water with the neurotoxins from the cyanobacteria or mat algae.
One of the things about mold is that it can invade your clothing and furniture. So cleaning everything else doesn’t do anything unless you get clothes and furniture and towels and everything else cleaned too.
I’ve thought my issue might be mold as well
Great news Mark!
Thank you. I’m breathing a little easier.
Oh my, thank goodness! Really awesome to hear. Hope the allergist can sort you out.
