This woke me up this morning…

Stay in the shallow

Or immerse in the deep end

Your choice, only yours

Remember that first time you dove into a pool.  OK, maybe not.  For most adults it probably happened decades ago.  Not so for me.  As a child, I was terrified of diving into a pool.  Living a fearful life, I refused to, even in all of the swimming lessons I took.  Didn’t dive in until seven or eight years ago after we got a pool in our backyard.  It’s amazing how idiotic fears like that can hold us back, keep our feet on the ground.  And how liberating overcoming those fears can be.

Like my recent trip to Disneyland when I finally overcame my fear of the roller coasters.  I had the absolute best time ever once I did that.

It’s the same in life and in relationships.  Take the plunge.  Dive deep and come back to the surface, screaming the words you have, expressing the feelings you feel.  The good, the bad, and the ugly.  Lay it all out and see what happens.  Don’t live shallowly.  Live and love and share deeply.  Of yourself.  And of others.

Or as Rob Thomas might say ….

Here’s a thought for you

Giving yourself might lead to

A greater return

Think about it.  Do it.  Give of yourself.  Not just the easy part, the part that you’re comfortable with, but give that part you’re afraid to let go.  Give of yourself and get out of your comfort zone.  Live dangerously.  On the edge.  Put your faith in the recipient.  Give.  Give. Give.  You just might be amazed at what you get in return.  It’s worth it.  Trust me.  I know.

A haiku for you, about

Peace, love, hope and dreams

Another Moment

Thinking, pondering

To simplify and switch gears

What’s most important
