Learn From History

Keep this in mind as Benjamin Netanyahu comes to America to lecture us on what we should do about Iran.  This is what he said before George W. invaded Iraq:

“there is no question whatsoever that Saddam is seeking and is working and is advancing towards the development of nuclear weapons — no question whatsoever. If you take out Saddam, Saddam’s regime, I guarantee you that it will have enormous positive reverberations on the region.”

Yes, indeedy, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t want to follow his advice on these matters.

Israel took out Saddam’s reactor and Bashir al-Assad’s reactor, if they want to take out Iran’s reactor, they should just go ahead and do it and quit boring us with estimates that Iran is “months” away from a nuke, which they have been doing since 1990 at least.

To take out Iran’s nuclear capabilities would require much more than was required for both Iraq and Syria. Multiple strikes in multiple locations. And it would do exactly what we don’t want. Drive moderate Arabs to ally with Iran against Israel. An Israeli strike on Iran would likely be catastrophic. And why suggest it if, as you indicate Israel has been screaming the same “fact” for 25 years now. That’s like saying we were justified in going into Iraq because of the WMD.
