KingMidget's Ramblings

Pull up a chair. Let's talk.

Why Not Thursday

I think I’ll stick with the family analogy.  Monday is the oldest child — the responsible one.  The day that leads the way into the week.  Setting the stage for all the days that follows.  Imagine the responsibility of it all.  No wonder so many people call in sick on Monday, looking for that extra day before it all starts up.

Friday is the baby.  Spoiled by its placement, but still not quite perfect.  (More on that tomorrow.)

Wednesday is the middle child.  Really, at the end of the day ignored and needing some kind of made up celebrity to attract attention to itself.

Tuesday is the miscarriage.

What does that make  Thursday, which is really only slightly above Tuesday in the hierarchy of things?  Well, it’s the ugly stepsister, of course.  Just like Tuesday, it’s in the middle of here and there.  It is the launch pad to Friday which is the launch pad to Saturday and the actual weekend.

But, again, let’s go back to the basic question.  Why Not Thursday?  Because if you spend the rest of your life living Thursday over and over again you never actually get to Friday.  Which, truth be told, has a lot going for it.

Thursday.  The only thing that makes it better than Tuesday is that it’s closer to Friday.  The ugly stepsister with no available Prince.

Come, on Thursday is the party animal! The going out night without ruining your weekend. But it does make for tough Fridays at times…

I like Thursday for the simple fact that ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Scandal’ are on TV that night. I’m so easy to please.
