Why Not Tuesday

I feel like with each of these, I always want to start with … Because it’s Tuesday.  Duh!!!

Seriously, Tuesday.  It stands for nothing.  It is nothing.  In the pantheon of days of the week, Tuesday is like … well, Thursday.

Tuesday is not the beginning.  Nor is it the end.  It doesn’t even get to claim to be the middle.  Instead, it is the nothing that exists between the beginning and the middle.

Tuesday is like this.  The oldest is born and in the in between leading up to the middle child, there is a miscarriage.

Yes, that’s right.  Tuesday is a miscarriage.  A miscarriage of justice.  A miscarriage of dreams and of hope.  Tuesday is the day that’s actually worse than Monday.  Just when you thought nothing could be worse than a Monday.

You arrive at Tuesday.  And it’s just there.  Lying on the ground, saying, “Hello.  I’m Tuesday.”  And, you look at it and say, “Bleh.  Tuesday.  Isn’t it Wednesday already?”

That’s why not Tuesday.

(By the way, I don’t mean to make light of miscarriages.  They are a heartbreaking thing for women to go through.  So, please accept this post in the good nature it’s intended.)

Yikes! A miscarriage analogy for a day of the week. You don’t run across that very often.

Oh my gosh, I am with you. I have hope and ambition on Mondays. On Wednesday I am looking forward to Thursday– which is my favorite day of the week. And obviously Friday is just a win. But Tuesday? Nothing good ever happens on a Tuesday.
