KingMidget's Ramblings

Pull up a chair. Let's talk.

A Different Kind of Bullying?

American Exceptionalism.  Here are a few articles on the subject:

Think about it.  Not the historical take on the origins of the term, but the manner in which it is viewed today.  I may be back with more on this topic.  I’ll be interested to see what you have to say in comments.

I have not traveled abroad much except Central, South America, Mexico Canada and the Islands. My daughter; however, toured Europe for an extended period of time. It really opened her eyes to the fact that other countries don’t see us as so very exceptional. We just like to think we are.

I hope to write more about this at some point, but there is so much about how we act internationally, how we view ourselves as a country, and some of our traditions and fascinations that just reek of bullying behavior. I rarely talk to anybody who lives in another country who looks favorably on our perceived superiority.
