KingMidget's Ramblings

Pull up a chair. Let's talk.

One More Thing

This was supposed to be included in my first post of the day, but when it’s 6:00 in the morning and I woke up at 4:30, I think I’m excused from needing a fully operational brain.

After reading reviews of my books and those of other books, I’ve decided I should put a disclaimer in the story description when I publish Deviation.  It would go something like this.  Let me know what you think.

* * * WARNING * * *

The two main characters in Deviation are brothers.  They are in their twenties.  This story is fueled almost entirely by dialogue between the brothers, Mickey and Johnny.  They talk to each other like all too many twentysomething men do.  They’re foul mouthed and they say crude things about women.  If foul language or frank conversation between two young men is likely to offend you … DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK!!!  If you do and then you post a negative review because you didn’t like the language or how Mickey and Johnny talked about women, I’m coming after you and dropping an f-bomb on your head.

Too strong?

    A warning something is offensive is useful. Adding the part about not writing a negative review because it did indeed offend sounds like the review is really all that matters. You didn’t really care about giving the actual warning, you just didn’t want a negative review about it. As you know, people write negative reviews about content, typos, white space, and whatever else they can think of. Saying “don’t” is a big ol’ double-dare staring someone in the face.
