KingMidget's Ramblings

Pull up a chair. Let's talk.

I’m driving down the freeway on my way to a quick burger followed by a new writing prompt I’m trying out. I see license plate that reads GO LHS and wonder what high school it refers to.

I get to Suzie’s Burgers, order and sit down, cracking open my new book — Stephen King’s 11/22/63. Page two, there it is. The main character teaches at Lisbon High School. Coincidence?  I think notThis is Mr. King after all.

Speaking of which I sure would like to see him write a book that isn’t a tome.

He always writes tomes, doesn’t he? But when I’m three-quarters through it I’m always thinking, “Oh no, I’m almost finished!” I get panicky because I feel like I’ve invested decades in reading it and it’s going to end real soon. (What will I do now?)

Lately, I’ve been more than happy to finish his books because they have seemed so much like each other. Don’t know if you’ve read 11/22/63 but there are amazing similarities with Replay.

I got 11/22/63 for Christmas. I finished it middle of January. I thought of Replay, too. How far are you? I don’t think I’m giving anything away when they talk about the 50s and then coming into this timeframe, where guys wear their pants below their butts. I want to run too! Talk about culture shock.
